    Keane are a band from Battle in Sussex, England. Their Number 1 debut album, Hopes And Fears, was released in May 2004. Spurred on by hits like Somewhere Only We Know, Everybody's Changing and This Is The Last Time, it went on to sell 5.5m copies worldwide, garnering the band two Brit Awards and a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Keane were named Songwriters Of The Year at the Ivor Novello awards in 2005.

    The band's second album, Under The Iron Sea, was released in June 2006 and also went straight to Number 1 in the UK album charts, debuting at Number 4 in the US Billboard charts. It has so far sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide. The trio were nominated for a second Grammy in 2007 for their hit single Is It Any Wonder?.

    Throughout 2007, Keane toured the world, playing sold out shows across Europe, the USA and Latin America - including headline gigs to 50,000 Keane fans in Buenos Aires, 15,000 in Amsterdam and 18,000 at London's O2 Arena.

    In May 2008, both of Keane's albums were voted by the readers of Q Magazine as being amongst the Best British Albums of all-time, with Under The Iron Sea at number 8, Hopes And Fears at number 13 (only Keane, Radiohead, the Beatles and Oasis had more than one album in the Top 20).

    The band have spent the first half of 2008 in Paris, Berlin and the depths of the English countryside, recording their highly-anticipated third album.
