WHAT IS KEANE GOING TO DO FOR 2010?

Right, a new year it's coming, with a new decade. After a excellent 2009 in the Keane world, the guys have a lot of plans to begin this 10' decade. So, what are Tom, Tim and Rich going to do in 2010? Here are a couple of things that Keane announced for the next year:

    - The Night Train EP or "mini-album": 8 brand new tracks will be released on May 10, globally.

    - The Forest Tour: With (up to now) 6 forest shows confirmed, the band will be playing the songs of The Night Train EP.

    - Writing, Recording, Going Back To The Studio: On a special xmas podcast of Beyond The Iron Sea, Tim said this was one of the plans of he band for 2010.

    - "Sovereign Light Cafe" on the next album: On the xmas podcast, Tim said this song wasn't finished, that it was going to be on the new album, and that he love it.

    - Other plans of Tom, Tim and Richard: On Beyond The Iron Sea, Tim said that he has been collaborating with a lot of people, including Cathy Dennis, and that he has worked on an alternative project of counry rock. Tim doesn't know if anything of this it's going to be released, but for now he's only interested in Keane.
Tim added that the band talked about a solo album from Tom Chaplin, because Tom has some songs to do an album by himself, but that it's his choice. But Tom seems to be only interested in Keane too.
About Richard, there are no rumours about himself doing any other thing related to music but Keane, so he will be doing stuff with Amnesty International and Death Penalty.

    NIGHT TRAIN DETAILS

UPDATE 1/12/2009: Acording to 'Teletext', another song in the mini-album will be a instrumental, and should be called House Lights.

Today Keane announced their new EP (or mini-album): Night Train, due to be released globally on 8th May 2010. Besides, the band have confirmed a summer tour of forests in 2010, which you can check out here.

The name of the mini-album takes its title from the band's favoured mode of transport during the tour. The eight tracks were written and recorded during the Perfect Symmetry world tour.

Keanemusic.com has also confirmed a couple of tracks of Night Train, which you can see here:

    · Stop For A Minute - Collaboration with Somali/Canadian rapper K'Naan.
    · Looking Back - Collaboration with Somali/Canadian rapper K'Naan.
    · Ishin Denshin (You've Got To Help Yourself) - Featuring Japanese MC Tigarah.
    · Your Love - Featuring Tim Rice-Oxley on lead vocals.

And in this interview to Tom, another couple of tracks were confirmed:

    · My Shadow - Ballad, it was a Perfect Symmetry bonus song on the Japanese edition.
    · Back In Time - Described as a "thumping dance tune" on the interview.

Tickets for the shows will be available from 9am on Wednesday 2nd December through keanemusic.com, before going on general sale from Friday 4th December via 01842 814612, www.forestry.gov.uk/music and www.keanemusic.com. Tickets will be £32 (subject to booking fee).

Other tracks that are rumored to be on the Night Train EP are Sovereign Light Cafe, the song that Keane has been playing during their last gigs of their world tour, and a collaboration with Kanye West, but nothing was confirmed. The official artwork, tracklisting, singles and support shows will be announced later on the band's official website.

Last Shows Of The Perfect Symmetry Tour

It's been quite long since our last Keane Music Argentina exclusive post. Now that the Keane world is really quiet, we will talk about the end of the magnificent Perfect Symmetry Tour. And here we go:

Started the 29 September 2008 and featuring more than 100 live performances, the Perfect Symmetry World Tour has been one of the most long and succesfull tours of the band. And now, by the end of this month, all this will be finished. In their second year touring, the 20 September 2009 the band will be off to work on their forthcoming mini-album, which should be released in May 2010, featuring 7 songs or something like that.

Including dates in Argentina, Canada, USA, Brasil, Colombia, Russia, France, and a lot of different countries, Keane sold out lots of stadiums, rocked festivals, and made a really enjoyable tour. They seemed to be proud of themselves, as well as their fans. But what's more important, everything went very well and we all had a lot of fun and enjoyed the new tracks, as well as b-sides (For example 'Under Pressure' or 'My Shadow') or covers ('Cast No Shadow' from Oasis).

So then, here is our mini-post, dedicated to Keane, thank you for an excellent tour and all your effort. And special thanks to Mr. Jesse Quin, whose participation on the gigs were amazing, and the proved that he is an brilliant musician. Once again, thank you for everything. We will leave you with the rest of the dates for the Perfect Symmetry Tour now...
