Hello
This is me at home on the piano (yes just got out of bed) playing an old Pet Shop Boys b-side that I’ve always loved. Although it’s a song about a funeral, and despite being set in the context of the formal, stiff-upper lipped way British people approach death, I think it’s more about how "passing on" should really be seen as something more positive...much more a part of life I suppose. In this case, a release from prejudice and a sense of hope that a life lived with “strength and pride” is an inspiration to those left behind. In the context of a New(ish) Year, I hope that’s a happy message!!
So yeah, Happy New Year Everybody!
